People and Dogs

After reading about the pit bull on a rampage in Reservoir a couple of days ago (http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,26228455-421,00.html) , it started me thinking again about people and dogs. Now I will start off by saying that I do not own a dog. Never have, but probably will at some point in the future when my daughter is a bit older and can understand how to take care of one.I have been around dogs, I know people who have dogs. I know people who have cute little fluffy white one, ugly slobbering fat ones, old crippled blind ones and yes, even people with pit bulls. And to those with pit bulls, you will probably not like my opinion on people and dogs, but then you may also agree with me.

You can do a google search on pit bulls and get just as much information on how they are lovely family dogs that cuddle up to 9 month old babies as well as how they will rip your throat out as quick as look at you. You read about how their aggressive fighting streak has been bred out of them just as much as how they are bred for dog fighting, and to rip throats out. Of course I believe the earlier version, because lets face it, who on earth fights dogs in this day and age, so why would they need to breed a fighting instinct into a dog... Yeah.. Righto. Point being there are arguements on both side of the fence, and both insist that they know they truth.

What is Jeans for Genes?
Jeans for Genes is a major fundraiser of the Children's Medical Research Institute.
This includes Jeans for Genes Day, events, exhibitions and other FUNdraising events throughout the year.

Chances are you probably know someone who has a genetic disease, because one in twenty children are born with some form of genetic fault. There are children with leukaemia, muscular dystrophy,  genetic defects and many other disorders. The scientists at the Children’s Medical Research Institute are working to try to prevent these diseases before they occur in our children, or where that is not possible to develop better treatments.

The Southern Cross Tattoo

Tattoos of the Southern Cross seem to have become a rather contentious issue these days. All you need to do is do a Google search on it and you will turn up many pages of opinions on why you shouldn't get it tattooed. The odd person in there defending it, but mostly it is a bunch of people hating it because it has become so popular, especially amongst the young white male population.

Semi Permanent Tattoos?

Whilst wasting time on the net when I should have been doing other things, I stumbled across InfinitInk... A 'removable tattoo ink'. First thing that came to mind was some kind of temporary tattoo that washes off in the shower, but it is a bit different than that. Unless of course you shower in laser beams, which hey, with water restrictions as they are these days, you never know.
